Cowgirl note w/medallion

I wanted to try one of Nichole Heady's lazy medallions & use my new Nestie Lacey Circles to make this one. I stamped the background to harmonize w/the Cosmo Cricket "Wanted" papers. I'll be making more of these medallions using different edges - I like the look.

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket PP, Nestie, PTI - kraft & Ocean Tides cardstock, Fall Elegance; Memento ink, Scor-Pal, circle punch

Wreath thank you card

I made this thank-you card for my in-laws who gave me a very generous PTI gift certificate for my birthday. I'm a long time posting it. The "Wreath for all Seasons" set stamps up so beautifully!

Supplies: PTI - stamps, Kraft, rustic cream & Chocolate cardstocks, summer sunrise ink; Momento brown ink, Nesties, wool felt from LSS, Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Bookmarks

I made these bookmarks for the other ladies in my book club.
First - is there a way to rotate pictures in Blogger?

I made these bookmarks for the ladies in my book club. It was fun to have the bookmark sleeves from Michelle to make these look really cool. I tucked-in the triangle of plastic at the top behind the bookmark to hold it it. Then I punched a hole w/my Crop-a-dile & put the ribbon through the hole to secure the layers together.

Supplies: PTI- Rustic Cream, Rustic White, Harvest Gold cardstocks, All Booked Up stamp set; Nesties, Cuttlebug embossing folder, bookmark sleeve

Oh, this is a card blog; I'm supposed to make cards!

I had a fun crafty day at Scrapper's Boutique w/Rhonda & toward the end of it, realized I had not actually MADE anything! I'd spent time shopping & die-cutting & stamping things w/stamps Rhonda owns that I don't. So, shortly before we left & wanting to use my new MS butterfly punch, I whipped up this very simple card.

It's so fun to get together w/someone who shares your mania. She had gotten her September PTI release box & so I was able to see some of the new stuff. We split the new Fine Linen buttons & felt, so I have some of the new color until my box arrives w/the card stock & ribbons I ordered. I ordered one of the infamous Kraft binders that is delaying our boxes from getting to us.

I'm sorry that I'll miss the PTI gals October get-together in Waxahachie, but I'll do my darnedest to make the next one!

Supplies: PTI card stock, patterned paper & stamp, MS monarch butterfly punch, Marvy scalloped circle, Colorbox chestnut chalk ink

A wedding card!

Oh, it's been such a long time! Note to self: resolve to blog more than quarterly!
I made this card using parts of the wedding invitation; I really like to do that for wedding cards. The 3 papers are shimmery, but the pic doesn't show that very well. The card base is PTI Raspberry Fizz.
These are not exactly my taste in colors that go together, but I hope the bride likes it. Thanks for taking a look!

Supplies: PTI: Big & Bold Wishes, RF cardstock & ink; Nesties, QK embossing folder

I'm a copy cat!

Whoa, it's been a long time. I feel like I've made a few things that I forgot to take pictures of.
I had 3 birthday cards to make & so decided to make three the same, but vary the colors. The other 2 were made using Aqua Mist & Raspberry Fizz. I copied ideas from Debbie Olson & some others.
The supplies are all PTI except the hemp twine & wool felt are from JoAnn.
A big thanks for looking!
Signed,
PTI lover whose June release box is languishing in Earth City, MO.

Why Blogger hate me?

*** Somehow Blogger would not let me add text to my photo post***

Back from vacation & made a card for the first time in a long time. I made 2 of these to thank people we visited on our trip. I had my April release goodies waiting for me when I got back, so I used the Enjoy the Ride stamp & die - found that lining up the stamp on the die takes some practice. The Dotty Biscotti paper is very fun! {CANNOT figure out how my text got the blue underline & then it stopped!}

Thanks to the people who recommended the Enchanted Cottage in NC. I got to shop the clearance cottage which was like a trip back in time! Some stuff was from almost 10 yrs. ago, but I did get some cool bargains. The owner & her staff were nice; only wish I'd had more than an hour to shop. My DH enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch while I shopped.

Merci pour la visite!

Supplies: PTI cardstock, stamps, patterned paper. Memento ink. Ranger white pen

I finally made a card!

Happy Birthday to my girl!

This is the card I made for my daughter's 22nd birthday. She was born on April Fools' Day, but she is far from foolish. She graduates from Baylor University in May & then starts her Ph.D. in Statistics program in the fall. We are very proud of her.

Now for the card... I had been wanting to try out the bookprint flower & this seemed a good opportunity. I used an old French Lit paperback text that we had put in our Goodwill box. We lived in France & all speak French (w/varying degrees of fluency) so I'm happy to have this to use for crafty purposes. I scored the strip of New Leaf & embossed the leaves (half of a punched heart) w/ the same Cuttlebug folder I used for the Hibiscus Burst background. Of course I see the little things I would have done differently, but a nice card all in all.

Supplies: PTI stamp, ink, cardstock, button, flower die. Nesties label & rectangle dies. Cuttlebug embossing folder, EK heart punch

I complained too soon!

It arrived the next day! Everything is beautiful - can't stop admiring the new Hawaiian Shores color & the Green Boutique paper. Aren't they lovely?

The turquoise color is the new HS.
Hopefully will post a project in the next day or two.

Still waiting for my box from PTI!

I have never had to wait this long for my release order from PTI. I guess I've been spoiled! I ordered by 12:07am on release night & thought I would have gotten my order last Friday.
I realize that this is such a small thing to whine about, but soooo many other people have rec'd theirs that it's making me impatient. I think it would be so much easier to wait even longer than this if I knew WHEN it would arrive. Alas, USPS shipments are not getting notices.
The wait will be forgotten when I see all my new goodies & can play w/them.
Whinge over!

A quick bridal shower card

I made this card yesterday afternoon for a bridal shower. The bride had picked peacock feathers for a sort of color theme for her wedding stuff. I thought that Enchanted Evening would be a great match. The bride exclaimed that it matched her invitations; so it was a score!

I was concerned that the PTI twill would not be "formal" enough for the mood of the card, but the rich color & its slight sheen made it work well.

It's very fun when your handmade card is well-received - the bride asked if I made it & that she was trying to figure out how I did it. Gratifying, for sure.

Thanks for looking!

Supplies: PTI ink, stamp, cardstock & twill tape; Cuttlebug embossing folder, Nesties Labels 4

PTI DT Spring Color Schemes challenge

I used Betsy Veldman's color scheme of New Leaf, Summer Sunrise, Pure Poppy (though on Nichole's blog, she said Raspberry Fizz) & Sweet Blush. The picture doesn't show well that the label is cut from Sweet Blush. This is a color scheme that would not be my usual, but I wanted to make a card to cheer up my DD who sprained her ankle & I wanted to use the "sweet pea" stamp because I often call her that. Therefore, I needed the scheme that contained New Leaf.

I'm also going to enter this into the Moxie Fab World Olympics of Stamping challenge.

I don't think this is among the best cards I've ever made, but I like parts of it & its main purpose was to give my daughter something in her mailbox -- she loves to get mail. It also makes me feel like I'm doing something for her to help her through the not fun time of being on crutches.

Supplies: PTI ink, ribbon, buttons, cardstock, stamps. Versamark ink, Waltzingmouse frame stamp, puchased card base.

Kaanapali rainbow

A good day in Hawaii

On Maui w/my sisters & having a great time. Found out that my DD got accepted into Baylor's PhD statistics program --so happy for her!
Also found out I won the Vintage Valentine sweepstakes on Papercrafts mag site. Tons of cool, free stuff - can't post a link because i'm just on my iPhone.

Early Valentine flowers & a fat kitty

Even though I'm leaving on Monday for Hawaii, Marshall wanted me to have some Valentine flowers. Tulips were too hard to resist. We bought this vase @ IKEA when we lived in France. Flowers were so inexpensive when we lived there that this vase could be FILLED w/tulips for about $10.
Oh, & my fat kitty came to investigate. I took the shot right after I told him "no!" - he's acting like he was never interested in the flowers. He came to us w/the name Little Larry, but as you can see, has long since outgrown the "little" part.

Valentine for my daughter/ CPS PTI challenge

Here's my loose interpretation of the CPS/PTI sketch.
Finally tried the gathered ribbon. Loving the PTI patterned paper.
Thanks for looking.

Supplies: PTI cardstock, stamp, PP, ink, ribbon. Cuttlebug folder

Card for my son's Valentine Birthday

It's so hard to wrap my mind around the fact that I am the mother of a 25 y/o! Well, on Sunday I will be.
My very creative son will get a kick out of the fact that I die cut the heart from the Starbuck's cup & the sentiment mat from the cardboard sleeve. He works at Starbuck's, so the card is topical to his life right now, as well.

Supplies: PTI ink & cardstock, Cuttlebug folder, Marvy punch

A snowy day in Texas!

It just keeps coming down & they say it will snow for another 10 hrs or so! It's very fun (since I don't have to go out in it) to see the big white flakes when I look out the window. It should all be gone tomorrow, but it's pretty while it lasts.
I grew up in Michigan; so this isn't the most snow I've ever seen. But I've lived all my adult life here, so snow is fairly unusual & a nice treat.

My personal Valentine challenge

I made two of these cards to fulfill a personal Valentine challenge. I have two very nice ladies that I visit with @ my WW meeting. They are both widows; one of a year or so & the other has been w/out her husband for several years. They are always helpful, supportive & full of life. One I even talk stamps with & we exchange stamping magazines. The other always calls me "young 'un" (though I'm 50 & she knows it) & we talk about travels & her family.
I hope the Valentine cards will help them remember happier times when they still had their sweethearts to share the day with.
I sure am grateful to have mine for as many years as God will grant.

Super Bowl Sunday

I changed the blog template to something I like much better.
The Super Bowl is not holding my interest very well - even the commercials are a bit lackluster so far.
I thought about making some cards, but all my stuff is upstairs & DH is downstairs. I'll keep him company instead.
Thanks to Ted on the PTI forum for showing us how easy it is to make a blog.

Enjoy your evening, y'all!

Let's see how this works

Everyone on the PTI forum said it was very easy to make & maintain a blog... so I thought I'd give it a try! Perhaps having this up & running will be one less obstacle to entering card contests/challenges.
